ITS will be performing upgrades to Banner on Saturday 8/3/2019 from 5:00 am – 5:00 pm. This includes both Banner Admin pages and Banner Self-Service and affects all functional areas. During this time, all Banner systems will be unavailable. Banner, Self-Service, and all related systems such as Xtender, Jaggaer, e-procurement, Cognos, and portions of MyDenison that rely on Banner data will be unavailable during this maintenance window.

When the maintenance work is completed, this post will be updated with additional information.

ITS will be performing network firewall maintenance on Friday 8/2/19 from 5:00-7:00am which may result in the loss of the wired or wireless network campus wide.

Please do not edit files over the network or submit information online during this time period as your work may be lost when the network outages occur.

Scope of Work: CBTS HEUC Infrastructure Routing Changes.

CBTS will be performing maintenance on our telephone infrastructure on Sunday, 07/28/2019 from 12 am – 6 am EDT. During this time here is a chance of a phone service interruption. Please avoid scheduling any calls during the maintenance window.

There is a planned maintenance to EA’s MySQL Database Tuesday morning, (7/30) – 6:30AM-7:30AM.  The following services will be unavailable at various times during this maintenance period:

Beginning Tuesday, July 30th at 3:00am, ITS will begin upgrading the file server infrastructure that provides STUDENT PERSONAL (aka student “U:”) network drives. During this maintenance period student Personal network drives will be unavailable. We expect access to be restored by 7am Tuesday, July 30.

IMPORTANT! Please do not change any files on student Personal drives while this maintenance is in progress. Any file changes made on these drives during this period will be lost.

Update on 8/17/19 at 3:00pm:

The infrastructure upgrade has been completed on SHARED and MEDIA network drives, and they returned to normal operation. Work continues on the PERSONAL network drive, and the updates will be posted as they become available.

Beginning Friday, August 16th at 10:00pm, ITS will begin upgrading the file server infrastructure that provides SHARED (aka “S:”), PERSONAL (aka “U:”) and MEDIA (aka “M:”) network drives. During this maintenance period, Shared, Personal, and Media network drives will be unavailable. We expect access to be restored by Sunday, August 18th at noon.

IMPORTANT! Please save your work and log off your computer (or disconnect from the network drives on your Mac) when you leave campus on Friday, August 16th. Any file changes made on these drives during this period will be lost.

Traffic was returned to the normal lines as planned.  Work is complete.

The fiber repair has been completed and traffic will be returned to the normal lines this evening.

Update 7/23/2019 9:30am

AEP has postponed the work on the repair until Friday morning.  We will continue to run traffic on our backup internet lines until then.

Update 7/22/2019 5:00pm

AEP will continue working on the problem line tomorrow.  We will continue to run traffic on our backup internet lines until they are able to fix the issue.

Update 7/22/2019 12:10

Traffic has been transitioned to the backup internet lines.  We expect the traffic to return to the production fiber around midnight tonight.

AEP will be performing maintenance on Denison’s primary internet line today beginning at noon. Before the work we will transition the traffic to Denison’s backup internet line. The transition will be very short, Voice calls in progress might notice a delay during the transition, but we do not expect calls to drop. We will run on the backup lines until this evening, no outages are expected during this time.
