On 12/1/14 ITS will adjust the McAfee scan settings on Denison-owned Windows computers to perform a quick scan daily and a full system scan every other week. This change is intended to catch malware and virus infections more quickly. Both scans are “silent” and will not impact your ability to use your computer while they are happening. Network maintenance will be completed in the areas listed above on Tuesday 11/25/14 between 5am-7am.  During this change window there could be a brief (less than 1 minute)  interruption of wired and wireless network at each location.

The vendor who provides the denison.onthehub.com web site for distribution of Microsoft software for student, faculty, and staff personally owned machines has announced they will be performing maintenance on Tuesday, November 25. It will begin at 7:00AM and may last for up to 2 hours. The site will be unavailable during this time. Please try again after 9:00AM.

There were several network devices across campus that lost power at 6:30am.  The majority of the equipment power returned around 7:15am.  Some equipment did not return until 8:30am.  If you experienced network trouble during this time it is most likely due to this outage.

Here are some of the areas that experienced the outage:

Athletics, Knapp, Bancroft, Smith, Curtis, Talbot, Slayter, Shaw, Doane, Higley, Barney, Library, Burtonmusic, Brown, Myers, Good, Crawford, East, Preston, Beth Eden, Kappa Sig, Beaver, Stone, Moshier Hutchinson, Hayes, Wright, Sheppard, Shorney, and Olin.  There may have been other areas effected that are not included in this list.

Network maintenance will take place in the locations listed above on Tuesday 11/18/14 between 5am-7am.  During this timeframe both the wired and wireless network could experience small outages which could last around 5 – 10 minutes.

Network maintenance was successfully completed.

Between 6:15 and 6:30 AM, ITS will perform routine maintenance to the Denison BigRedID Login infrastructure. During this maintenance period users may not be able to login to BigRedID based services such as Denison Apps, MyDenison, and other services.
