ITS will be performing network maintenance on Thursday 2/26/15 from 5:00-7:00AM which may result in the loss of the wired or wireless network in the following locations.

Please do not edit files over the network or submit information online during this time period as your work may be lost when the network outages occur.

Update 2/26/15 7:31AM:

The maintenance is taking longer than expected. The Campus Calendar is online but may be sluggish while database maintenance continues.

Between 6:00 and 7:00 AM, ITS will perform routine maintenance to the Campus Calendar infrastructure. During this maintenance period users may not be able to view calendar events and the feed in MyDenison may be unavailable.

Technical Services identified a network outage from 3:47pm to 3:54pm on 2/24/15. The outage interrupted services for Rose House, Physical Plant, and Kappa Sigma. A power shortage is the suspected cause of the outage. If another source of the outage is identified we will update this post accordingly.

To stay compliant with the Federal  reporting requirements surrounding the 150% Direct Subsidized Loans,  the Banner (INB) Student module will be upgraded during tomorrow’s maintenance window.  The Banner (INB) Student system will be temporarily unavailable during this maintenance period:  6AM – 7AM.

(Student 8.7.1 and Student 8.7.2.1.)

The ITS Help Desk has received several reports of the Novell ZENworks data collection form appearing after logging in to a Denison Windows computer. If this occurs, you may simply click “Submit” to resubmit the form and it should not continue to appear. Network maintenance will be performed between 5:00AM and 7:00AM on February 17th. We do not expect this maintenance to cause network outages.

Update 2/12/15 9:17pm:

The network equipment in question has been restored to normal conditions.  We believe the issue to have been resolved at this time.

Original Post:

We are investigating anomalous activity on our network equipment that may be causing disruption for wired and wireless network connections, although there have been no such reports thus far.

Completed: On Thursday February 12, 2015 starting at 6:00 AM, an updated Financial Aid package is required to implement the new Federal regulations governing the PELL grants received by our students.

This upgrade should take around 30 minutes and it will only impact the Financial Aid module and its users.
