Update 4/27/15 10:00AM:

We have received an update from our Blackboard host site indicating that connectivity issues popped back up on Saturday 4/25 & Sunday 4/26. Additional action was taken on Sunday 4/26 to correct the issue and monitoring so far has indicated no further problems. Denison’s Blackboard host site has reported that network monitoring has revealed network issues that may result in slow Blackboard performance and timeout issues. They are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. Updates will be posted here as they become available.

A new lab printer has been installed in the Library Reference Area, replacing the existing printer. If you would like to print to the Library printer from your laptop, please go to MyDenison and search for the “Laptop to Lab Printing” page using the search box in the top right corner. There you’ll find instructions for installing the Library Reference Area printer on your laptop.

Problem:

Banner will not open in Chrome version 42 – gives error “This plug in is not supported”.

 

Workaround:

  1. In your URL bar, enter:
    chrome://flags/#enable-npapi
  2. Click the Enable link for the Enable NPAPI configuration option.
  3. Click the Relaunch button that now appears at the bottom of the configuration page.

Update 4/24/15 2:00PM:

The character encoding issue has been resolved and at this time all known issues have been addressed. If you experience unexpected behavior with any “webby” service please contact the ITS Help Desk.

Update 4/23/15 2:00PM:

Work continues on the effort to resolve any side effects of the “webby” migration this morning. At this point the only known issue is the appearance of question marks or other “bad character” symbol by web browsers present on some personal and research websites.

Update 4/23/15 8:00AM:

“Webby” content and services have been migrated to new hardware and editing access is once again available. Some minor issues from the migration remain which ITS is currently investigating. We appreciate your patience while we work to restore all “webby” functionality. Current known issues:

  • Campus Operator Tools
  • Expanded Course Descriptions

Original Post:

ITS will be performing maintenance to migrate services hosted on “webby” to updated hardware. During this time editing access to “webby” will be unavailable and all hosted sites will be offline, including:

  • personal sites (personal.denison.edu),
  • faculty research and collaboration sites, and
  • hosted web applications (Expanded Course Descriptions, Chemistry Stockroom, Slayter Desk Tools, etc…)

This maintenance will not affect how “webby” users access their content or affect their editing capabilities.

Additionally, access to Denison Apps via apps.denison.edu will be temporarily unavailable. Please use email.denison.edu during the maintenance window.

On Tuesday, 4/21/15, a software upgrade will be administered to Denison’s wireless network between 5-7am. This maintenance will cause a brief campuswide outage followed by localized intermittent outages.
