ITS will be performing network maintenance on Tuesday 7/10/18 from 5:00-7:00am which may result in the loss of the wired or wireless network in the following locations.

Library – 1st & 2nd Floor

Slayter Union – 3rd Floor

Please do not edit files over the network or submit information online during this time period as your work may be lost when the network outages occur.

Maintenance of the high-voltage power grid on campus will be on July 5th of this year. The outage will begin promptly at 7:00 AM and is estimated to last 8 hours for the locations listed below:

Beaver
Beth Eden
Chiller Plant

Facilities Services
Gilpatrick
Huffman
215 North Prospect
301 North Prospect
Mitchell Athletic Center
Bancroft House
Shannon House
Nursery Cottage
Press Box

Shepardson
Solar Array  (will not receive power and will not be able to produce)
Swasey Chapel
Swasey Observatory
Whisler

In addition, there will be a power outage at Burke Hall beginning at 8:00 AM and lasting until around noon. This outage is needed as part of the Eisner Performing Arts Center construction effort. The Burke Hall outage will cause the following areas network to be down.

Web-based applications will be maintained, however, network access on campus will be limited in certain areas. There will be emergency power in buildings to support life-safety needs such as phones, fire panels, and exit lighting. Please turn off or unplug any unneeded equipment, computers, lights, and backup all data files prior to the outage.

On 6/28/18 ITS will release an upgrade to McAfee Endpoint Security on Denison-owned Windows computers. This upgrade is “silent” and will not impact your ability to use your computer while it is happening. At some point during the upgrade process, you might notice a Windows notification regarding your antivirus protection being off. It should resolve itself after a short period of time once the new software is installed and running. If the Windows notification stays there permanently, please contact the ITS Help Desk at helpdesk@denison.edu or 740-587-6395.
