To prepare our infrastructure for new wireless deployments in administrative and academic buildings we have an engineer on campus from our wireless vendor who will be performing some upgrades. This work will result in a wireless outage for Chamberlin, Mitchell, and the Doane mailroom. An update will be provided when this work is complete.

Update 8/14/13 Noon:

Microsoft Office and Microsoft Windows downloads for faculty/staff home use are now available again. Please report any issues to the ITS Help Desk.

Due to a license supply issue, faculty and staff are currently not able to download Microsoft Office and Microsoft Windows for use on a home computer from denison.onthehub.com.  Students are not affected by this issue.  ITS is working with the vendor to replenish the license supply this week.  If you would like to be notified when downloads are once again available, please email the ITS Help Desk at helpdesk@denison.edu.

We will be performing maintenance on authentication servers during 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 13. BigRedID logins to browser-based services may be interrupted during this time.

Update: 6 a.m. system maintenance is complete.

ITS has checked with individuals reporting continuing issues logging in and at this point all have logged in successfully.  Please contact the ITS Help Desk with any continuing issues.

ITS has confirmed problems accessing Denison Apps mail (apps.denison.edu) this AM.  This appears to be a problem on Google’s side – attempts to go to gmail.com also fail.

This appears to affect only Mail. Other components of Denison Apps such as Drive, Calendar, Groups, and Sites are available and can be accessed at their direct URLs:

Email can be sent and received via email clients such as a Gmail/email app on a smartphone or tablet and Apple Mail on a Mac.

More information will be posted here as it becomes available.

ITS has confirmed that there are issues logging into apps.denison.edu and, if successful logging in, there are issues with server timeouts when trying to send mail.  We are investigating and will post updates here as soon as they are available.

UPDATE: 8/6/2013 6:30pm – Mail is now being processed.  This problem also affect mail being sent from admin servers for confirmations.

8/6/13 2:00 pm – We currently working to fix a problem where jobs scanned to email on Laniers aren’t being sent. You can still scan to your LAN Inbox while we are addressing this issue.

To adapt to one of our vendors schedule the networking group will be preforming maintenance on the network from 6am to 8am. Registration for students will be cleared during this window and work will be preformed on one of our devices. Students on campus using their own devices will need to re-register their devices after this maintenance window in areas where registration is active. There will be intermittent outages from 7am to 8am.

We will perform planned server maintenance starting at 5am which will require a quick restart of file services. This will cause a very brief interruption accessing files on servers hosting PERSONAL, SHARED and MEDIA volumes.
