Some Gmail Messages POSSIBLY Misdirected to Spam on Thursday 12/18/14
Google reported on 12/18/14 that “Currently some messages are being incorrectly marked as spam in the Gmail service. As a potential workaround to this issue please check your spam label for messages that may have been incorrectly categorized as spam.” (see Google Apps Status Dashboard post from 12/18/14.) This may also have resulted in your seeing messages in your Inbox that said “this was not directed to your Spam folder due to your organization’s request”.
Information Technology Services Closed Wed. 12/24/14 thru Thurs. 1/1/15 – Responding to Service Outage Reports Only
As part of the University winter break closure, ITS will close on Tuesday 12/23/14 at 5:00PM and re-open on Friday 1/2/15 at 8:00AM.
The ITS Help Desk email and voicemail will be monitored during the closure for reports of major service outages (eg. email, Blackboard, Banner, etc.). ITS will respond to these as soon as possible. If a service outage is identified, an alert will be posted here on NetNotes along with updates on resolution. If you are experiencing problems with a service, ITS recommends checking here for service outage status.
Help requests received during this closure period that are not related to service outages will be responded to when we open on 1/2/15.
Reporting Service Outages: Email will be monitored more frequently than voicemail so ITS recommends sending an email to helpdesk@denison.edu to report a service outage. If you experience a major service outage which impacts work for an area that needs immediate attention, please contact the Denison operator at 740-587-0810 to report the outage.

Original Post
Denison’s Blackboard host (University of Cincinnati – UC) is experiencing Internet connection difficulties this AM. This is resulting in intermittent outages for all hosted Blackboard sites including Denison’s. A brief outage occurred at approx. 9:20AM and lasted for just a few minutes.
If you see a message indicating that “Blackboard is currently unavailable for scheduled maintenance”, the issue is NOT scheduled maintenance but rather Internet connectivity problems. Please wait a few minutes and try to connect again. UC hopes to have a full resolution to this problem soon and updates will be posted here.
