ITS will be performing network maintenance on Thursday 6/16/16 from 5:00-7:00am which may result in the loss of the wired or wireless network in the following locations.

Athletics, Barney, Slayter, Monomoy, Talbot, Rose House, Knapp, Olin, Fellows, Shorney

Please do not edit files over the network or submit information online during this time period as your work may be lost when the network outages occur.

ITS has received and confirmed reports that Self Service is currently not available. We are investigating and working to restore service as quickly as possible.

The Banner Jobsub process will be updated Monday morning, 6/6, from 6 AM until 8 AM.  Banner will be available during this upgrade, however, any batch jobs posted to Banner Jobsub will not be processed.

If the maintenance work is completed earlier than anticipated, this post will be updated when Banner Jobsub is available.

Update 6/2/16 6:50pm:

Technicians have assessed the damage and have restored Network services to Smith & Shorney Hall . Cable TV may be down in Shorney, Smith, & the Sunsets apartments overnight. We will post another update as soon as we have more information.

There was pipe cut with fiber optic cabling in it this morning around 10:00am. Technicians have been out to assess the damage and are currently working to restore Network services later today. Cable TV will be down in Shorney, Smith, & the Sunsets apartments overnight. We will post another update as soon as we have more information.

ITS will be performing upgrades to the network infrastructure on Thursday, June 2nd between 5 and 7am. While the upgrades are happening there will be brief interruptions to on-campus services and to Internet traffic from on-campus.

Accordingly, ITS recommends that you DO NOT edit files over the network or submit information online during the maintenance time periods as your work may be lost when the network outages occur.

Information Technology Services full-time staff will be participating in the department’s annual retreat on Wednesday afternoon, May 18 from 11:30 am-5:00 pm and all day Thursday, May 19.

Update 5/17/16 1:15pm:

Network services have been restored to Shorney Hall. They are now working to repair the Cable TV connections.

Update 5/17/16 11:24am:

Technicians have been working to repair the cut fiber optic cabling since this morning. Network services returned to Smith Hall around 9:45am. Network Services at Shorney are still down but should be back up by the end of business day. Cable TV should be restored as well.

Update 5/16/16 3:20pm:

There was pipe cut with fiber optic cabling in it this morning around 11:00am. Technicians have been out to assess the damage and will not be able to repair the fiber until tomorrow morning. Network will be completely down in Shorney & Smith overnight. Cable TV will be down in Shorney, Smith, & the Sunsets apartments overnight. We will post another update tomorrow morning as soon as one is available.
