The host site of our Blackboard servers, the University of Cincinnati, is currently experiencing a campus-wide power outage.  They are investigating the cause and hope to have an update by noon today.

In the meantime, Blackboard in inaccessible.

All services were restored Friday afternoon.

ITS believes that the issue that led to the timeouts/slow load times with MyDenison has been corrected.  If you continue to experience issues, please contact the ITS Help Desk at 740-587-6395.

The problems experienced during the 9:30 course evaluation timeslot have been reported to the Provost’s office so appropriate action (including rescheduling if appropriate) can be taken.

ITS has received several reports of timeouts or extremely slow load times when accessing MyDenison.  ITS is investigating and updates will be posted here as soon as more information is available.

Update 4/17/13 10AM:

Google has indicated that Mail, Drive, and other services experiencing problems this AM are in the process of being restored and many affected customers now have service. ITS has confirmed that a number of individuals previously reporting problems have been successful logging in to Denison Apps. ITS has received campus-wide reports indicating an inability to access Denison Apps – mail, calendar, sites, etc. Attempts to log in result in a server error. Those who logged in to Denison Apps early this AM are able to continue working. IMAP connectivity (which supports mobile phones, iPads, the Apple Mail client, etc.) is working and email can be sent and received using those devices/clients.

Our Technical Services team has reported that the error is not connected to our local server so we are currently unable to provide an estimate as to when this service will be restored. We will post any updates as they become available.

We experienced a staggered wireless outage today in a couple of buildings, lasting for a few minutes at each location. Outages occurred in parts of Knapp and Burton Morgan, from a time period of 2:00pm to 2:13pm. We are actively investigating the cause of the issue and are working with our vendor on diagnosis.

A power outage has been reported from the Open House at the corner of West College and Mulberry. It is estimated that power shoud be restored at approximately 3:30 p.m., but wireless network access is still available. We will post any additional updates as they become available.

Update, 9:18am – Maintenance has been completed.

Banner, Self-Service, Xtender, Focus, and the online directory will be unavailable Saturday, March 30, form 6am to 2pm while they undergo routine maintenance. Please check Netnotes.denison.edu for updates. (Netnotes is now also available in MyDenison under News, on the ITS Alerts tab.)
