The campus calendar will undergo routine maintenance between 6-7:00am Tuesday morning. During this time the calendar may be unavailable.
We are experiencing anomalous network activity which may result in slightly longer network response times, although we’ve had no confirmed reports of performance issues while monitoring/troubleshooting this event.
Update 9/4 15:00 – As of 14:00 we’ve made some adjustments to our wireless environment that, by all indications so far, seem to have addressed many of the the issues reported. We will continue to monitor the situation and assess feedback from individuals who had reported problems to gain confidence in these adjustments and assess any other potential issues.

In coordination with support from our wireless vendor, we are investigating reports of periodic wireless slow downs or disconnects. These events are occurring most often on Macbooks and smartphones. We will provide an update when a cause/resolution has been uncovered.
Due to planned network maintenance for the hosting site, Blackboard will be unavailable from midnight Thursday 8/28 to 1:00AM Friday 8/29.

This year you will find a slightly different approach to user account management on Windows computers in e-classrooms. The key changes are:
Your first login to a Windows e-classroom computer will be a little longer than usual (up to a few minutes) as your profile is created, so you’ll want to allow time for that. Any future login on that computer will be significantly faster.

Original Message: There may be a brief outage to the campus wireless network from 6:00AM to 6:15AM as we perform a necessary adjustment to equipment licenses.
ITS is planning to install latest updates on Novell OES servers hosting shared network drives (PERSONAL, SHARED, MEDIA, SCRATCH, etc) on Thursday, 8/21/14 between 4:00am and 7:30am. As these updates are being applied, there will be short outages for the above network drives and printing while servers are updated and rebooted to complete installation.
Update 8/18 AM:
ITS received one additional report of a building being down on Sunday afternoon. Continued research identified issue with wireless access points in seven buildings and that was corrected Sunday evening with the exception of one access point in Smith. The ITS Help Desk received a handful of reports Saturday afternoon and evening indicating that wireless was not available in Crawford, King, Schaff, and Smith.
ITS technicians were already working with the vendor of a piece of networking equipment that was showing unusual behavior on Saturday– that issue was believed to be the source of the WiFi outages reported. A fix was put in place Saturday evening and the networking equipment resumed normal behavior. Those reporting WiFi outages were notified and asked to comment on their current WiFi experience.
Unfortunately the two responses received Sunday AM indicate that the WiFi connection is slow and spotty. ITS technicians are continuing to work to diagnose and address the issue.
