UPDATE 2 – Cognos restart in progress – should be available by 9:20 AM

The Cognos update and maintenance has been completed.

An upgrade to the Cognos reporting environment will take place on Tuesday, August 4th, from 5 AM until 10 AM.

Please Note: To avoid any potential loss of reporting changes, please refrain from making any modifications to your Cognos reports or queries after regular business hours (5:00PM) on Monday, 8/3.

In order to get the critical Banner upgrades into our Production environment (PROD), ITS would like to take advantage of the July 4th holiday weekend (July 3 – 6) since Denison will be closed during that time. During this maintenance window we will be installing several upgrades to Banner and Banner-related applications beginning the morning of Friday July 3rd thru Monday July 6th. In addition, our LMS hosting provider, Blackboard (Bb) will also perform a shorter maintenance cycle during our maintenance period.  During this time, the following applications will be unavailable:

Blackboard LMS (Bb)
Xtender
Banner
FOCUS
ODS
MyDenison
Self-Service Banner
We anticipate that we will probably not need the entire maintenance window for these upgrades; however, and for proper planning purposes, we will reserve this entire maintenance window.  Of course, we will send out a notifications immediately upon completion of the upgrades and availability of these systems.

Update: Maintenance is complete, new logins to BigRedID services are successfully created.

ITS will be performing maintenance that will cause a brief outage indicated by being unable to create new logins to BigRedID services such as Denison Apps, MyDenison, and Blackboard. This maintenance will complete the recovery from the unplanned outage Thursday 4/9/15.

Update: Maintenance complete. You may see several pop-ups when you log into Banner. The first may tell you that your Java license is out of date. Check the box that says ‘Do not show again’ and click ‘Later’. Two more may be pop-ups asking if you want to run Java scripts. Check the box that says ‘Do not show again’ and click ‘Run’ for these.

Banner maintenance and upgrade work will take place Tuesday morning, 3/17 from 4:00-7:30 AM.  (Banner Forms and Finance 8.10)

Important note for Banner users:  If you had previously created a bookmark in your browser to access Banner INB, please note that your previous bookmark will no longer work after the upgrade.  After the upgrade, please login into  Banner by directing your browser to banner.denison.edu

To stay compliant with the Federal  reporting requirements surrounding the 150% Direct Subsidized Loans,  the Banner (INB) Student module will be upgraded during tomorrow’s maintenance window.  The Banner (INB) Student system will be temporarily unavailable during this maintenance period:  6AM – 7AM.

(Student 8.7.1 and Student 8.7.2.1.)

Completed: On Thursday February 12, 2015 starting at 6:00 AM, an updated Financial Aid package is required to implement the new Federal regulations governing the PELL grants received by our students.

This upgrade should take around 30 minutes and it will only impact the Financial Aid module and its users.
