ITS is receiving reports of individuals receiving a “Temporary Error (500)” when trying to log in to Denison Apps Mail.  Google has confirmed that there is an issue affecting approximately 2% of Gmail users and they are working to restore service to those affected as quickly as possible. Updates will be posted here.

Please note, you can check the status of any Google Apps service by visiting the Denison Apps Learning Center and clicking the “Apps Status Dashboard” under Quick Links on the lefthand side of the page.  If any service has a dot that is not green beside it, click the dot under the date for that service for more information.

ITS has received reports of problems with printing to network printers and logging into Mac computers in computer labs.  Work is underway to correct these issues and updates will be posted here.

Services related to Banner will be unavailable Saturday morning, April 7, for routine maintenance. These services include Banner itself, Self-Service, and the online directory on denison.edu. I apologize for any inconvenience.

1:05pm Services have been restored.

Due to people responding to phishing messages, we had several accounts broken into last night and used to send spam.  Because of the spam going out, other services like Roadrunner are currently refusing our messages.  They will start accepting messages when they’ve determined that we are no longer the source of the spam.

Please do not respond to requests for your email credentials.

Update 4/3 9:44AM:

Banner and job submission have been restored to normal service.

The ITS Help Desk has received several reports of issues with Banner job submission this AM.  Diagnosis has revealed that the system encountered a connectivity problem at about 7 am Tuesday morning which caused job submission to be unresponsive.  ITS is working to correct the issue.  Updates will be posted here.

At this time, we are receiving numerous reports of users being unable to login to the network. This issue appears to be campus-wide and our technicians have been notified. We hope to restore this service as soon as possible. Sorry for the inconvenience.

We have had several reports of users experiencing problems with mail.denison.edu.  There is an inability to login to the mail server and/or send messages.  We will post an update to netnotes.denison.edu when we have resolved the issue. Sorry for the inconvenience.

**The problem appears to have been a broken name service on one of the internal email servers. It has been fixed.

There appears to be a delay in sending mail to roadrunner (rr.com, roadrunner.com) recipients.
