ITS has has been working with our Mac support consultant, Encore Technologies, to implement a new tool to deploy & update software on Mac computers. The tool is the JAMF Casper Suite and it is an industry-leading Mac management tool. It will replace the “Managed Software Center” that appears in your dock.

As a result, you may see a “QuickAdd” package from JAMF being delivered to you via the Managed Software Center. This enrolls your computer in Casper and enables ITS to distribute software and updates to it. If you do, please accept the update that installs the QuickAdd package. Once your computer is enrolled, the only other change you will see right away is a “logging out” message after you log out of your computer that indicates it is checking for policies & updates.
