Beware – Email Scam: Do not respond to “Your E-mail Account Suspension Notification”

The email pretending to be from from “infomail@denison.edu” with a subject of “Your E-mail Account Suspension Notification” is a scam. Please do not click on the link (my.denison.edu/mod/email) in the message, it is not from Denison.

If you are using Denison Apps Mail, please open the message and click the down arrow beside the Reply button. You will see a selection marked “Report Phishing” in the menu that appears. Please select that in order to report the phishing attack to Google to improve the identification and blocking of future phishing attacks.  Please note, this option is only available in the web (Gmail) interface for Denison Apps, it is not available if you are using Thunderbird, Apple Mail, or another client to access your Denison Apps email.

Please delete and DO NOT RESPOND to this or any emails that request computer account or other personal information. They are an attempt to steal, at minimum, your email or other computer account, at maximum, your identity.

Again, this a fake email and should be reported to Google (if using Denison Apps mail) and deleted. If you replied to it in any fashion, please immediately visit www.denison.edu/its and use the “Change Your Email Password Now” link in the Password Change area (bottom right corner) to change your email password. Please contact the ITS Help Desk at helpdesk@denison.edu or 740-587-6395 if you have any questions or concerns.
