Update 12:45pm
“Denison-Guest” and “Denison-JoinWiFi” are now working as normal. Please report any network issues to the ITS Service Desk at 740-587-6395 or servicedesk@denison.edu. The Service Desk will reply as soon as possible during regular business hours (see www.denison.edu/its/servicedesk for hours).
Update 9:55AM
ITS has received a number of reports and confirmed issues connecting to the Denison-JoinWifi and Denison-Guest networks. When you select those networks, you may see your device is attempting to connect but find it hangs on that step and never completes the connection. ITS is working to diagnose and correct this issue as soon as possible. Until this is resolved, If this occurs please try the following workarounds:
For Denison-JoinWifi (wireless helper network used as you are connecting to eduroam):
- If you are trying to connect a mobile device to eduroam and have a cellular network connection, please SKIP the step of connecting the Denison-JoinWifi network and instead open a web browser (Safari on iPhone/iPad and Chrome on all other devices) and go to joinwifi.denison.edu and follow the prompts.
- If you are trying to connect a laptop to eduroam, please visit the ITS Service Desk in Fellows Hall Room 100A for assistance today between 8am-5pm.
For Denison-Guest (wireless network for those who are NOT current faculty, staff, or students):
- At the current time there is not a workaround for Denison-Guest users to access wireless. For wired network access, you may use a computer in a public lab like Fellows Hall Room 100A. Staff at the ITS Service Desk can provide you with a guest network account you can use to log into one of the lab computers.
This post will be updated as soon as more information is available.
Please contact the ITS Service Desk at servicedesk@denison.edu or 740-587-6395 if you have further questions.
