The ITS Service Desk has noted a recent influx of phishing messages sent to students impersonating faculty or staff promising employment. These messages will request students to contact a specific phone number, then will request banking information. 

If you receive a message claiming to be from a Denison faculty or staff member, please check the sender’s email address and verify it is coming from the correct Denison.edu email address. Additionally, any request for a job application should directly lead you to the Denison employment page as opposed to any external phone number or site.

If you receive an email that you would like to confirm the legitimacy of, please forward it to the Service Desk at ServiceDesk@denison.edu. If you suspect the message is illegitimate, please report it as Phishing by opening the original message in Gmail, clicking the three dots, and selecting Report Phishing.
