The eProcurement system was updated over the weekend. This update impacted the email notifications approvers see in the system. We are working with the company to correct these emails but have not yet achieved 100% success. The impacts:

  • Some emails are from support@sciquest.com instead of purchasing@denison.edu.
  • The email has two links: a Take Action link and a View Requisition Approvals link.
  • The Take Action link takes you to a mobile site and asks the user for a four-digit code. This option will not work for Denison users.
  • Denison users should select the View Requisition Approvals or View Invoice Approvals button.
  • If you have trouble reaching your approval queue from the email link, you can approve directly within the eProcurement system by clicking on their action items using the flag icon in the top right corner of the screen.

Thank you for your patience as we work to fix this issue.

A script from Denison’s device management server unexpectedly ran on numerous Apple computers this morning. As a result, the EisnerCenter232_HC8853 multifunction device (printer) was installed on those devices. The script also changed the default printer to EisnerCenter232_HC8853. That script is now disabled and the multifunction device should now be removed.

Action Needed: If you need the EisnerCenter232_HC8853 multifunction device, you will need to reinstall it.

If you need any assistance, please contact the Service Desk at (740) 587-6395 or servicedesk@denison.edu.

This afternoon, ITS was made aware of intermittent printing issues with the lab printers in the following buildings:

  • Fellows Hall
  • Doane Library
  • Curtis

The issue may have affected lab printers in other buildings as well. ITS has resolved the issue and confirmed that printing functionality has been restored.

If you have any printing problems, please contact the ITS Service Desk at 740-587-6395 or email servicedesk@denison.edu.

Zoom has announced a critical security vulnerability for the Zoom Desktop App for the Mac (see the Zoom Security Bulletin 8/13/2022 entry). Because of this vulnerability, you must update your Zoom desktop app immediately.

ITS recommends Windows users update their Zoom desktop app as well, so you have the latest Zoom features before the start of the academic year. ITS will be updating Zoom on lab and classroom computers. You should update Zoom on every Mac and Windows computer that you use, whether they are personal or Denison-owned.

To update the Zoom desktop app on a Mac or Windows computer:

  1. Open and sign in to the Zoom Client (aka desktop app) – see video OR instructions.
  2. Update the Zoom Client by clicking your profile icon and selecting Check for Updates. It will download and prompt you to install if an update is available. Once you do so, Zoom will automatically restart. (For more detailed instructions, see update video OR instructions.)
  3. Please click your profile icon and choose Check for Updates again to make sure that it says your desktop app is up-to-date.

If you have any questions or problems, please contact the ITS Service Desk at servicedesk@denison.edu or 740-587-6395.

The ITS Service Desk has noted a recent influx of phishing messages sent to students impersonating faculty or staff promising employment. These messages will request students to contact a specific phone number, then will request banking information.

If you receive a message claiming to be from a Denison faculty or staff member, please check the sender’s email address and verify it is coming from the correct Denison.edu email address. Additionally, any request for a job application should directly lead you to the Denison employment page as opposed to any external phone number or site.

If you receive an email that you would like to confirm the legitimacy of, please forward it to the Service Desk at ServiceDesk@denison.edu. If you suspect the message is illegitimate, please report it as Phishing by opening the original message in Gmail, clicking the three dots, and selecting Report Phishing.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the ITS Service Desk at servicedesk@denison.edu or 740-587-6395.
