A power outage on campus has caused the network to go down in several buildings. Facilities is currently working to restore power. The following locations are currently without network. An update will be posted as power to network gear is restored.

This afternoon, ITS noticed that one of our server hosts experienced a resource issue, causing the following services to become unavailable or experience degraded performance.

  • PowerFAIDS
  • Xtender
  • eduroam (possible degradation)
  • Digital Signage (unable to make content updates)
  • R Studio
  • CSGold – Web Portal
  • HVAC – Building Automation (new programming)
  • SSO login (degraded)
  • Service Desk Tools / RegisterIP
  • Investments Website

We believe all services are back online, but we are still evaluating the situation. We will post an update when we confirm that the issue is fully resolved.

As a result of Google’s updated policies and licensing terms, ITS is implementing a policy change to how alumni can use Google Workspace at Denison, effective January 9, 2025.

What do I need to do?

What’s changing?

  • On 1/9/2025, Denison will lower your storage allocation to 5GB in Google Workspace, including Gmail, Drive, Docs, and Photos.
  • IMPORTANT: you must log in at least once every 12 months to retain your Denison Google Workspace account as an alum. If you forward your email, please ensure you log in directly at apps.denison.edu to keep your account active. If more than 12 months elapse without a login, your account will be disabled. After another 12 months of inactivity, the account will be permanently deleted, and all data will be lost. 

Services You Keep

  • You may continue to access your Denison email through MyDenison or apps.denison.edu. It’s a great way to stay connected to fellow alums.
  • You may also continue to use Google Workspace apps, including Calendar, Chat, Drive, and Meet.

Need Help?


On Wednesday, September 11th, 2024, between 5:00 AM and 7:00 AM, ITS will be performing network maintenance on the Denison-Guest wireless network. This maintenance will revert the network to its previous configuration, requiring users to log in through a captive portal.

What this means for Denison-Guest users:
After the maintenance window, guests will need to enter their email address and accept our terms and conditions before accessing the Wi-Fi.

Why the Change?
This change strengthens security measures and ensures all users accept our terms before connecting to the guest network.

To Prepare:
For a seamless transition, please switch your devices to the eduroam Wi-Fi network as soon as possible. This network is unaffected by the maintenance.

We experienced a campus-wide outage affecting Google websites, which ITS is currently investigating. The outage occurred between 3:11 PM and 3:12 PM. Based on our monitoring, it appears that only Google websites lost connectivity, while other websites continued to function normally. You may have noticed this issue if you were using any Google web services, particularly Google Meet.
