On Thursday, 7/17/14, network maintenance will be performed in Burton Morgan between the hours of 5:00AM and 7:00AM. A code upgrade on network equipment in this location will cause network outages for Burton Morgan and the Safety and Security office.
A server configuration issue may have interrupted some client wireless connectivity from approximately 18:00 on 7/9 until 9:45 on 7/10, with most problems likely to have been experienced this morning. The issue has been corrected.
*Update* 17:00 – This problem has been resolved.
We are currently investigating an issue regarding wireless connectivity in residential areas.
We will be performing brief maintenance on the wireless network for administrative and academic buildings at 6AM on 4/11, applying a patch to address the Heartbleed bug. We expect wireless connectivity loss to be minimal.
ITS will be making changes to the campus firewalls between 5AM and 7AM on April 3, 2014. During this time there will be brief interruptions to Internet traffic from on-campus and off-campus access to on-campus resources, such as MyDenison.
Update 3/19 7:20PM: All network connectivity restored, but housekeeping after this restoration caused an additional outage from 7:25 to 7:35. Maintenance complete.
Update 3/19 7:05: The change made did not resolve what it was intended to do. Our vendor requests work which will require an additional outage of approximately 20 minutes which will be performed starting at 7:10.
Update 3/19 6:50: Change was made at 6:45, connectivity restored at 6:49.
Update 3/19 5:33: We have postponed this until 6:30PM.
ITS will be making a change to the network which is expected to cause a disruption in network connectivity for five minutes. This change will occur at 5:30PM today.
Resolved – The issue has been resolved as of 4:22PM on 3/19.
Google is reporting some problems with Sheets. The service has been restored for some and they are continuing to work to resolve it completely.
ITS will be installing updates on the Novell file servers which host shared network drives (PERSONAL, SHARED, MEDIA, SCRATCH, etc). This maintenance is scheduled for 3/20 between 4:30AM and 7:30AM. During this time there will be brief outages for the network drives listed above and for network printing.
*Update* 3:30PM 3/17/14 – The problem with Sheets & Talk has been resolved.
As of 12:22PM Google is reporting service disruptions with Talk and Sheets. There is currently no time frame for resolution. An update is expected to be provided by 2:15PM.
