UPDATE Sun 10/21/12 3:02pm Upgrade is complete.
Cognos will be upgraded to version 10 on Sunday, October 21, 2012 between 9 am and 6 pm, and will not be available for use during that time. Users should refer to the email with subject “Cognos Upgrade This Weekend” for important information on what you’ll see after the upgrade, the migration of existing reports, and an orientation workshop option.
Xtender will undergo routine maintenance between 6 and 7am on Thursday, October 11. If you encounter problems logging in after that time please notify the Helpdesk at x6395.
6:32am Maintenance complete.
Banner will be unavailable from 6:30-7am on Wednesday, 8/29, for emergency upgrade of the Ellucian/Sungard certificate.
7:29am Work has been completed and Banner is available for use.
The administrative systems environment will undergo routine maintenance on Thursday, August 23, between 4am and 7:30am. During this time Banner, Self-Service, Cognos, Xtender, Focus, Smartcall, Extensis, WebHelpdesk, Novell Zen, VMware Manager, and the online directory will be unavailable.
The Banner job submission subsystem will be unavailable from 6:30-7:30am Tuesday, August 21. Features other than job submisison WILL be available.
On Thursday, August 16, logins to some services will be briefly unavailable from approximately 7:00 to 7:05am as necessary maintenance occurs. Affected services include Denison Apps, OrgSync, PeopleAdmin, Freestyle previews, Symplicity, Denison Wiki, DU Forums, the Writing Center, and the campus calendar. If you experience difficulties please wait a few minutes and try again.
The Banner environment will undergo routine maintenance on Tuesday, August 7, between 5am and 8:30am. During this time Banner, Self-Service, Cognos, Xtender, Focus, and the online directory will be unavailable. The production systems will be restored to operation first, then the test systems, with the goal of all systems available by 8:30am.
7:40am Banner production services have been restored.
UPDATE SUNDAY 3:35pm All services are currently available.
A hardware failure in the new environment resulted in restoring the old. We will reschedule at a later date.
UPDATE SATURDAY 3:25pm We have encountered difficulty and continue to work with Oracle. Banner INB is unavailable, and we anticipate the Banner INB will remain unavailable into tomorrow. Although the Banner forms are unavailable, the nightly jobs will be run, and Focus reporting from teraterm accounts on OPUS is available.
This is a reminder that Banner and related administrative software will be unavailable this weekend, May 26-27. Current projections suggest the services will be unavailable for part or all of Saturday and Sunday 6am-3pm. If all goes well the moves may be completed Saturday so you are advised to check Netnotes.denison.edu for the current status. The process will begin with Banner on Saturday morning. We are currently experiencing problems with Banner, Self-Service, Xtender, and Cognos and are investigating the problem. Updates will be posted as more information becomes available.
Update 1:11pm – At this time Self-Service, Xtender, and WebHelpdesk service has been restored. We are continuing to work on Banner INB and Cognos.
Update 1:22pm – Banner INB is now available.
Update 1:45pm – After an influx of logins, there are now some reports of a timeout logging into BANNER INB. If you have an existing session, please continue to use it. We are working to resolve the issue with logins now.
Update 2:01pm – BANNER INB logins have been restored, and Cognos is now available.
Update 2:15pm – There are continued reports of failures logging into BANNER INB. We are investigating.
Update 5/1 5:47am – All Banner services are currently being restarted.
